Siegfried’s annual Global Technical Operations meeting took place at our Evionnaz site. Under the lead of René Imwinkelried our site heads, multi-site heads, chief compliance officer as well as the global heads of Supply Chain, IT, Purchasing and FP&A spent two and a half days discussing various topics.

During the first part of the meeting, performance indicators, progress achieved, challenges and solutions for each individual site were discussed. This has been a great opportunity to learn from each other, to identify topics of common interest and to jointly find ways to further improve Siegfried’s performance. During the quality/compliance session the attendees had the chance to compare key quality metrics and recent inspection/audit finding across the sites.

Host Marcel Signer, Managing Director Site Evionnaz, and his team organized a tour through Evionnaz’s R&D, Analytical and Manufacturing facilities, highlighting the close collaborations of process R&D, analytics and manufacturing. Evionnaz is one of our hubs where we develop and launch new products.

After this very informative tour and many intense discussions, it was time for some leisure activities. Under the guidance of Marcel the team hit the road up to the beautiful mountains. Riding on four different types of trains and cog railways – one of them with an 87% slope – the group arrived at the Lac d’Emosson, a gorgeous lake at an altitude of about 2000 meter above sea level. The weather could not have been better: stunning blue sky offering a scenic view of the Alps. What a great opportunity for connecting with each other! Of course, such a relaxing mountain tour needed to be finished off with some local food: Raclette – hot molten cheese – served with steamed potatoes and local white wine.

The last day of our global meeting was dedicated to the topic Safety. A safe working environment for all of our employees is of paramount importance. Learnings and approaches to further improve Siegfried’s Safety track record were shared. On a global company view our record of accomplishment in 2018 has been better than in the previous year. For 2019 we are raising the bar again. Beyond the skills and experience to do a job, attitude plays an equal role in our company and it starts with Safety.

Thanks to all participants for their engagement during our global meeting and all our employees for their dedication and hard work.
