Within the parameters of Industry Week, five organizations, namely Kem One, Siegfried, Speichim Processing, Tredi and the regional chemical industry (UICRA) organized a meeting on Monday, 26 March 2018, with the Plaine de l’Ain high school in order to familiarize pupils with the world of chemistry.
With the aim of promoting professions in the natural sciences, the chemical industry frequently meets up with high-school pupils. The meeting was organized to support first-year high-school students in their career guidance.
The program included a presentation of the regional chemical industry and its participating companies as well as an introduction to the professions, which were presented by the companies’ employees. They joined the meeting in order to talk about their career, professional training, everyday work and their passion. Subsequently, there was time for the 70 attending pupils to talk directly with the speakers.
The aim of the meeting was to motivate students to embark upon an education in the sciences and introduce them to the chemical industry in specific by discovering the various types of professions.
We would like to thank Frédéric Poyet, Dimitri Cherif and Alexandre Teicher who were prepared to speak to the group of 70 pupils at the presentation.
