Following a construction period of only 15 months, the new Logistics Center in Zofingen was inaugurated in the presence of all participants in the construction of the building, representatives of the authorities and many employees. The need for a new building was justified owing to severe construction problems occurring in its predecessor, which will turn 111 years this year.
In his inauguration speech, Rudolf Hanko pointed out that the location of the new building is ideal: it is located in the north and along the edge of the site, close to production and with a separate road access. As a result, it is no longer necessary for trucks to negotiate tight corners on the site. They can now use a short and direct route without having to access the site. The building’s closeness to production plant benefits a higher level of efficiency. Therefore, the building will be used to fine-tune existing logistics concepts which, according to Rudolf Hanko, will require time. He thanked the project team and all external participants. Peter Gehler, Head Pharmapark, pointed out that the Logistics Center was completed within scheduled time and budget.
