Hameln/Minden: Vocational and Student information days

Vocatium 2018 – A Fair For Training and Studying in Hanover

This student fair is directed mainly at pupils in the penultimate class of all continued-education and occupational-training schools. Some 7000 pupils from 1000 schools in Hanover and surrounding areas participate as visitors. About 150 regional and supra-regional training operations, institutions, vocational schools as well as technical colleges and universities are available to answer visitors’ questions. The previously arranged meeting time of 20 minutes each characterizes Vocatium’s concept and helps to achieve more than an exchange of give-aways. Before the visit, pupils obtain a briefing session and preparation time for the fair visit.

Siegfried Hameln was represented at Vocatium for the second time running. 40 scheduled meetings took place concerning training occupations for laboratory assistants and pharmaceutical production assistants. On the Siegfried side, Christina Hartl (trainer pharmaceutical production assistants), Kai Schäfer (trainer laboratory assistants) and Nicole Stein (training officer) left no questions concerning vocational training unanswered.

The next Vocatium is scheduled for 21–22 May 2019. For the third year running, Siegfried Hameln will again attend.

Vocational and Student Information Day 2018 in Stadthagen

A Vocational and Student Information Day was carried in the Festhalle of Stadthagen. Siegfried Hameln and Siegfried Minden shared a fair booth and were represented by Nicole Stein and Christian Engelage respectively.

We were happy to see that this year the students’ interest focused increasingly on vocational training in occupations connected with the natural sciences. We informed them about the difference between sterile drug production in Hameln and drug substance production in Minden. We hope we managed to arouse their interest in jobs requiring an apprenticeship, such as chemical production technician and pharmaceutical production technician. We returned to work with many positive impressions of the fair, and we look forward to receiving applications for 2019.
